Living with anxiety can be challenging! Trust me, I’ve lived with it for years, and it took me a long time to figure out what to do about it. But when I found out how to fight it, I got my life back. Now I’m going to help you win yours back too.
While dealing with anxiety, I had numerous thoughts running through my head daily — every second of every day my head hosted a new thought. There were thoughts of the future, the past, and the present all at once. But The point of life is to live in the now. With these steps, I can help you quiet your mind so you can live life too.
Starting a meditation practice is the first step to calming your mind. By just having a 10-minute session twice a day, you could do your mind so much good! Meditation has been scientifically proven to lower stress, lessen worries and bring more happiness.
You can download this The Oak Meditation App to get started on an ios device. Note: You can also use their Note: You can also use their Breathing exercises to stop any panic attacks that are happening quickly.
For Android device you can try, Stop Breathe Think, I haven’t tried this app yet so, if anyone can tell me if you like it or not.
Exercise outside of a Meditation practice is also a critical factor in my battle with anxiety. My yoga practice was beneficial to my recovery. It helped me focus on just one thing, and not the millions of thoughts I used to have. Every day I practiced while moving from one pose to another and concentrate on my breath; This can be achieved with weight training, pilates, running or anything else that counts as exercise. But please pick something and stick with it for a while.
3. Eat Healthy
You every feel bad after you eat something considered bad? Yes, well what do you think would happen if you ate bad food all day? If you guess if would feel bad all day, then you are right. Fast Food places make terrible food, pretty much everything in a regular grocery store. Try to go as organic as possible. I know that it’s expensive, but it may be worth it in the end. Meal prepping may be beneficial in the end.
